Philosophy and Spirituality Fr. John is regularly invited to give series of talks on Spirituality, Eastern Mysticism, meditation and art of living. All things were made through Him. This is the deeper understanding of ‘God Made man‘. It is understood in the early writings of Veda’s as ‘at the very root of the universe is the creative energy or holy vibration identified as Om.’ According to the ‘Mandukya Upanishad’ "Om is the one eternal syllable of which all that exists is but the development. The past, the present, and the future are all included in this one sound, and all that exists beyond the three forms of time is also implied in it". The Incarnation of the Word of God, which stands at the centre of the New Testament message, is one of the key themes of St Isaac of Nineveh, a Syrian mystical writer of the seventh century. Isaac speaks about the ‘mingling’ (hultana) of God with the creation through the Incarnation of God. The Word precisely is the uncreated Word of God (St. John’s Gospel) and the created man Jesus (The son of God becomes Son of Man) are one (The uncreated word becomes created man) and the same person. Thus in his prayer Isaac appeals to Christ as to one person, who is simultaneously God and man: “O Christ who are covered with light as though with garment, who for my sake stood naked in front of Pilate, clothe me with that might which You caused to overshadow the saints, whereby they conquered this world of struggle. May Your divinity, Lord, take pleasure in me, and lead me above the world to be with You.
